  3. Each player chooses a color and takes the matching set of tokens.

  4. Place your tokens on the starting positions on the board.

  5. Agree on who will go first. Many choose the player who last saw a volcano documentary.

Gameplay

  1. On your turn, draw one card from the deck and add it to your hand.

  2. Play one card by placing it face up on the discard pile. Follow the action on the card.

  3. Move your token according to the played card’s instructions. Remember, some cards let you move more spaces!

  4. End your turn by drawing a new card from the deck, so you always have three cards.

Winning

  1. The game ends when a player reaches the volcano’s summit. First one there wins!

  2. If two players reach the summit on the same turn, the one with the highest sum of cards in hand wins.

Special Rules & Conditions

  1. If you draw a lava flow card, you must move back three spaces. Lava’s a tricky thing!

  2. If you draw a geyser card, you can skip your next turn to gain an extra move on your following turn.

  3. If you land on another player’s token, you both go back to your previous positions. Crowded paths!

  4. Remember, you can’t have more than five cards in your hand at any time. Discard extras.
