Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026. This policy explains how Topping The Table handles information when you visit toppingthetable.com, use its tools or contact us.

Who to contact

Topping The Table is responsible for the site’s editorial content and its handling of visitor enquiries. Use our Contact form for privacy questions, access or deletion requests, corrections and rights concerns.

Contact messages

The Contact form asks for a subject and message. These details are sent to the site’s administrator to handle your enquiry. The form is provided by WPForms Lite; its optional Lite Connect submission-backup service is not enabled.

We use the information to review and investigate the issue and keep necessary correspondence. We keep messages for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and reasonable follow-up, or to meet a legal obligation. You can ask us to delete correspondence that is no longer needed. Do not send passwords, financial details or other sensitive information through the form.

Website operation and security

Web requests include technical information such as an IP address, browser information, requested URL and request time. Our hosting and site software may process this information to deliver pages, prevent abuse and diagnose faults. Access to administration functions requires login cookies. Those cookies are used for authentication and account preferences.

Analytics

We use Independent Analytics, a WordPress analytics tool, to understand visits, referring pages, device types and approximate visitor location. Its tracking does not use analytics cookies, and its reports are stored with the website. Information is processed for site measurement and improvement. Google advertising and Google Analytics tags are currently paused while the consent setup is prepared.

Free tools and browser storage

The score tracker and turn timer save your entered player names, scores or timer settings in this browser using local storage. This lets you return to a session. The tools do not upload these saved game records to a scoring service. Clearing the tool’s saved data, where offered, or clearing this site’s browser storage removes the local copy. An exported CSV is a file that you choose to download and control yourself.

Affiliate links and external websites

Some links lead to Amazon or other external websites. Affiliate links identify Topping The Table as the referring site and may earn us a commission if you purchase. When you follow an external link, that site’s privacy and cookie policies apply. We do not receive your payment details or fulfil your order.

Google advertising

Google advertising is currently paused. If advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites. Google’s advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to personalize advertising across sites.

You can manage personalized Google advertising in Google My Ad Center. Information about how Google uses data from partner sites is available at Google’s partner-site privacy information. Other participating vendors may offer their own opt-out controls; YourAdChoices provides additional controls for participating companies.

Before Google advertising is enabled, the site will provide the applicable consent and privacy controls. For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, personalized ads require consent through a Google-certified consent platform. Non-personalized ads can also use cookies for reporting and frequency limits. Advertising will remain paused until the required setup is in place. This policy page is not itself a consent mechanism.

Comments and embedded content

If a comment form is available and you submit a comment, WordPress processes the information shown in that form, your IP address and browser details for moderation and spam prevention. Published comments can remain visible with the information you chose to publish. If you use comment-cookie options, WordPress can save your details in your browser for future comments. An email hash may be supplied to Gravatar to display an avatar; see Automattic’s privacy policy.

Some articles may contain embedded content from other sites. Loading that content can allow its provider to receive technical information and use its own cookies or tracking, according to that provider’s policy. External links do not load the destination’s content until you follow them.

Your choices and rights

You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser and choose not to submit a contact message or comment. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information, object to processing, or request a portable copy. Use the Contact form to make a request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your data. You may also raise a concern with your relevant data-protection authority.

Policy updates

We will update this page when the site’s services or information handling change, including before activating advertising. The date above identifies the latest revision.
