How To Play Deadfall: Rules Summary

Setup: Deal the Cards and Choose a Start Player

Shuffle the full Deadfall deck.
Deal all cards face down among the players. Some players may receive one more card than others.
Keep your cards hidden from everyone else.
Choose a start player. The player who most recently lost a bluffing game works fine.
Place a space in the middle of the table for the played cards.

Gameplay: Play a Card and Make Your Call

On your turn, play one card face up in the middle of the table.
Announce the value shown on your card.
Next, the player on your left takes a turn and plays one card.
Keep playing cards in turn order. Watch which values appear and which cards players may still hold.
At any time after a player plays a card, any player may call “Deadfall!” if they believe that value has no cards left in the other players’ hands.
Stop play as soon as someone makes a Deadfall call. Then check every player’s hand for cards matching the announced value.

Winning: Make the Right Call

If the caller proves correct, the played card was the last card of that value. The caller wins the round or scores the agreed points.
If the caller proves wrong, at least one matching card remains in another hand. The player who made the bad call takes the penalty.
After scoring, follow the rule sheet or your chosen scoring method for the next round.
Continue until one player reaches the agreed score or wins the agreed number of rounds.
The player with the most points wins. If you play without points, the first player to make the correct final call wins.
