How To Play Clocks: Rules Summary

Setup

  1. Place the round clock board in the center of the table.
  2. Each player picks a color and takes the matching clock hands and tokens.
  3. Shuffle the deck of time cards and deal four to each player.
  4. Put the rest of the cards facedown as the draw pile.
  5. Pick the youngest player to start. (Being the youngest finally pays off!)

Gameplay

  1. On your turn, play a time card to set one of your hands on the matching clock number.
  2. Instead, you may spend a time token to move your hand an extra space after card placement.
  3. If you cannot play, draw a card. If still unable, pass your turn. Sorry, sometimes you just have to sit and stew!
  4. When the clock fills up with hands, all hands reset, and everyone draws a card.
  5. Keep an eye out—strategy matters more than speed here!

Winning

  1. The first player to use all their time cards and tokens wins the game.
  2. If the draw pile runs out, the player with the fewest cards left takes it. Ties are settled by a final clock showdown, which is just as tense as it sounds!

Special Rules & Conditions

  1. If you land on another player’s hand, bump them back to their start position. No mercy!
  2. Wild cards can move any hand to any number, but you only get one per game. Choose wisely.
  3. If you forget to say “Tick-Tock” when you make a move, you have to skip your next turn. Yes, really.

Clocks seems simple, but it always turns my friends and me into competitive lunatics. Keep these rules handy, and you’ll rule the clock in no time. If you ever search for How To Play clocks, you won’t need to stress—I’ve got you covered!
