How To Play The Others: Rules Summary

Setup

  1. First, arrange the game board according to the chosen scenario. My buddies and I often fight over who gets to place what, so roll a die if tensions rise.

  2. Next, each player selects their team of heroes. I always go for the speedy ones because patience isn’t my strong suit.

  3. Then, place the sin cards and upgrade boards nearby within reach. This is where the villainous fun begins!

  4. Finally, choose a player to be the Sin and give them the Sin board and monsters. I usually end up being the Sin because my poker face is terrible.

Gameplay

  1. Each round, the players and Sin take turns. Heroes act first, followed by the Sin player. It’s like a dance, only more chaotic.

  2. During a hero’s turn, they can move, fight, or use special abilities. And trust me, using special abilities at the wrong time gives everyone a good laugh.

  3. The Sin player unleashes havoc with monsters on the board, aiming to disrupt hero plans. We always say, “Embrace chaos as part of the experience!”

Winning

  1. Heroes win by completing all mission objectives before the city gets overwhelmed by sin. Sounds easy? Well, think again!

  2. The Sin player wins by ensuring the heroes fail in their quest. This is your cue to rub it in everyone’s face if you succeed.

Special Rules & Conditions

  1. First, remember that heroes can become corrupted and take extra damage. Balancing power and corruption is like trying to eat a whole cake without feeling guilty.

  2. Second, infected zones on the board increase tension. We shout “infection!” every time it happens (and scare the neighbors).

  3. Finally, if a hero dies, they are replaced, but it costs valuable resources. So, no hero left behind—even the annoying ones!
